TRI Announces the Addition of a New Consultant
Leslie Wolf is a consulting chemist who recently joined Technology Resources International, Inc. He was a senior scientist and consultant at a major oil company specializing in fuels and lubricants research and development area for many years. He has authored technical papers and has been awarded 15 patents covering fuel compositions, diesel fuel engine emissions as well as biofuel effects on engine operations and infrastructure materials. Dr. Wolf is a recognized expert in all areas of fuels and lubricants development, formulation and testing, with an extensive background in how fuels properties effect engine performance and emissions.

TRI Has Been Appointed to Various Underwriters Laboratories Standards Technical Panels
TRI participates in Standards Technical Panels (STPs) for Underwriters Laboratories, assisting in setting national standards for most equipment used in fuels distribution.
Specifically, the company is a member of the STPs for the following 24 UL Standards:

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Fires at Service Stations
TRI was retained by a National organization to conduct a scientific study of static electricity related fires at retail service stations and identify their possible root-causes. The study was completed in spring of 2004 and includes an extensive review of the available literature, an analysis of vehicle fuel systems and the refueling environment. Wolf Koch of TRI has previously participated in a number of service station fire investigations and the resulting litigation.

Gasoline & Diesel Fuel Quality
During many years of covering dispensing technology, we have described the equipment, but published very few articles on the products being dispensed. Very little has been written on fuels quality and how it affects dispensing equipment. We have recently updated an analysis of Gasoline Quality and included current material on biofuels requirements and their potential problems. The original report was written in 2003, updated in 2004, and is now available as Gasoline Quality 2016. We have also broadened the Fuels Quality series to include a new report on Diesel Fuel Quality.

Intellectual Property
In 2000, Wolf Koch reviewed intellectual properties as they pertain to the petroleum equipment industry. In a series of four articles, he covered patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets. He has since added an article on choosing experts. All are available for downloading:
